Gear Review: Golite Quest 65l /72l Pack

 Golite Quest 65l (w) 72l (m)Pack
This pack's ultalight (the women's weighs in at 1.25kg for the 2010 version, and the men's 1.45kg), made with recycled 210 denier ripstop nylon (velocity fabric) which is reasonably durable for the weight, though obviously a heavier pack would provide better durability.  The back framesheet is moldable with the usual two aluminium stays so it can take a reasonable level of weight without being uncomfortable, I'd say up to the 20kg. It comes in two back lengths with a lovely molded hipbelt which is very comfy, and the pack has two large side stretch mesh pockets for all my c**p.   You can use the compression straps in alternate directions so it can carry your snowboard/shoes although there isn't a rugged abrasion area on the front so this area could wear easily.  I carried my skateboard on it though and it worked a treat (as well as my tent + poles on a separate trip).  It's got a hydration area as well (up to 3l) and two basic pole loops (not draw string).  Plus point is its body side zipper and detatchable hood (which shaves 94g, for the minimalists out there).
Overall an excellent pack- the 65l size is perfect for me, though the 72l for the men might come as a bit big for those lightweight enthusiasts.  It retails at £130, which isn't cheap but for the size/ weight ratio it's damn good, I have seen it going for around £110 too in several stores...
