To be considered for this category:

  • The tent or shelter had to weigh under 3kg (for a 2 man+ storage tent) 2.5kg (for a small 2 man) or 2kg (for a one man) to be classed as 'ultralight'
  • They must sleep 1 or 2 people
  • Minimum 2 season rating
  • Must be compact (i.e. designed to be used for lightweight backpacking, adventure racing and any other outdoor sports where you might need to carry your camping equipment with you)
  • I'm looking for something that could stretch to 3 seasons  
  • The manufacturers must have considered technological developments in ultralight tent design, construction, fabrics and frame to show true dedication to provide the best balance of:
