This is a hardcore mountaineering/ expedition pack so it's heavy (mine weighs in at 2kg) but 'bomb-proof' due to being made out of titanium 500 denier cordura with Dyneema ripstop weaved through it! I've had this pack 2 years and it looks as good as new. It's got 'removable components' i.e it's got a removable back support (and alloy staves) and a floating lid (and waist harness) that can all be dropped, ideal if you want to climb with it as it strips down to 1.2kg (mine down to 1.1kg). I went for this pack because there's no 'fannying' about with extra pockets, zips etc. It's a true expedition pack in that way, it's got compression straps around the sides and a front and rear haul hoops, and bungee cord area on front to stuff your helmet/ approach shoes etc. Oh and it's also got 2 ice axe/walking pole loops which are essentials, working with the bungee cord really keeps them 'in' to the pack, but easily removable. A nice pack design. The articulated back harness is basic but effective, and the hip harness is cushioned nicely to spread the load, the weight of the pack 'moves' with you. It comes in 3 sizes (with 3 different literages) but averages at 70l 2.2kg. The floating lid can add an extra 20l too if you push it, but then the pack rises above your head! (it's still balanced though, if you've packed right!) Downsides, the weight and slightly too basic shoulder straps...
